Talented artist and tangerine crooner
Yemi Alade in a recent interview with Mr Tawati of shooting stars claimed she
doesn’t write her songs, instead she just “freestyle”
When asked the reason, she attributed it
to the Nigerian music taste saying that Nigerians love originality and
naturalness which comes only when you freestyle adding that writing songs makes
the process too serious and hence lose it originality.
When asked who she is dreaming of
working with, she says Don jazzy adding rather jokingly that she loves his
igbotic voice.
On her relationship with Alex Ekubo, she
diplomatically tried to swim around the question. When asked straight if she
finds Alex attractive, she just said “Every woman finds him attractive”.
It would be recalled that the Actor
featured in both of her two singles, Johny and Tangerine, making some of us
wonder whether he has pitched a tent in a females heart for real after his
alleged romance with TV personality and model Uti Nwachikwu.
Yemi went on to speak on the craziest
thing she ever did, which was cramming a debate in French and actually wining the debate in a
French competition without knowing a word of what she was saying.
Now if you ask me that was daring.
The university of Lagos graduate further
revealed that she is the first child in a family of 3, followed by two stubborn
younger brothers ho really challenged her calm and she hitherto learnt to be
rather strong.
The artist also claimed that female
artiste these days tend to produce better music videos that their male
counterparts.
In the interview the Ondo state native
revealed that she would one day venture into acting as she does have the gift
for it.
Also indicating that she would like to
go on a date with Psquare.
Now I don’t know which of the psuare’s
she meant, probably the one from Mozambique, because the last I checked, the
ones in Nigeria are married.
On final words to fans, she said:
“make sure you put God first in whatever
you do”
“every man needs a woman and every woman
needs a man, that’s why the world is round”
