Resident Decry Condition of roads

Resident of the Olambe/akute axis of ogun state have raised concern over the poor condition of roads in the area attributing this to total neglect on the part of both the state and local government.
On a recent visit of our team to the town which is a suburb of the Ifo local government, very close to the border with Lagos, we found out that the complains were very well founded.

On getting to the town, we realized that most of the towns resident actually work in various part of Lagos and commute home in the evening(some at weekends) to meet family due to the relative proximity to Lagos.
Resident have however complained over the sorry condition of infrastructure in the mostly residential area. Our team did some consultation and we found out that the town has no public health care facility, police station and even library.
We decided to take a look at the few public schools in the area, and we were surprised to find them in an even sorrier state.
On speaking with the CDA executive, we were alerted to the fact that even the Primary and Secondary schools in the are were built with the effort of the CDA, and if not for the effort of the CDA, the roads will have been worst that these.
When asked what government have done in terms of development in the area, the CDA official told us that they haven’t done anything tangible.
Next we took our tour to the roads where we find them debilitating. The major road which is a state road running from Sango Ota to Ojodu Berger(Subsequently bypassing Lagos) is under construction by the state government leaving the resident with a ricketing road along the Denro-Ishashi axis to commute daily. The road in particular was reported to have been constructed during the Gbenga Daniel Administration but due to the standard of construction had got bad in less that 2 years.
Most resident who own cars prefer to park their vehicles at Berger and take public transport home despite the high cost due to the bad condition of the roads and the resulting implication on the vehicles.

Commercial bus drivers are also not left out of the challenge. A commercial Driver we spoke to said that the Denro ishasi road consume all their profit in forms of repairs on their vehicles.
It is uncertain whether the state or local government will do  anything about this but the situation is bleak
