MBU REMOVED FROM RIVERS STATE

The Police Service Commission has approved the recommendations of the Inspector-General of Police for the redeployment of Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mbu.

The Police Service Commission has transferred the Rivers State Police Commissioner, Mbu, to Abuja as the new Federal Capital Territory Commissioner of Police.

Allied Atlantic Distilleries breaks new ground with ethanol plant

History was made recently with the inauguration of a multi-billion naira ethanol plant at Igbesa, Ogun State. The company, Allied Atlantic Distilleries Limited is the first ever cassava based Ethanol Plant producing Extra Neutral Alcohol in Africa (ENA) otherwise known as ethanol utilizing cassava as raw material. The plant, a product of backward integration initiativeof government is expected to supply raw material not only to distillersbut also pharmaceutical, cosmetics and other related industries. Suzanne Basso, a female murderer convicted for killing her mentally challenged boyfriend, Louis Musso, 59, in 1998 has been put to death in Texas, USA. This makes it the 14th time in the history of the US that a woman would be put to death for any crime.

"Nigeria will start exporting cars soon" - President Jonathan

President Jonathan said with the new National Automotive Industry Policy introduced by his administration, the country will soon be exporting cars to other countries. He said this while speaking with a delegation of business owners from Anambra State led by the State governor, Peter Obi, who paid him a courtesy visit at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
