The talk show host was trying to
introduce a section about Madonna's controversial use of the N-word in a
tweet of support to her son Rocco.
But
Wendy Williams broke down in tears on her live morning show as she
described the rock star's close relationship with her 13-year-old and
burst out, 'What I discovered this weekend is that my son doesn’t like
me anymore.'
To ooohs and
aaaahs of sympathy from the audience, the distraught 49-year-old talked
about her troubled relationship with her own teenager, Kevin, who wants
to spend more time with his dad, Kevin Hunter.
She said: 'You know, he’s all into his father, you
know how 13-year-olds are, I was the same way when I was 13, but it is
breaking my heart.
'He’s a father, he’s a buddy, they talk
sneakers, they go for hair cuts, they speed off in the cars and I’m just
left there feeling like, "Why you so pissed?" I’m not pissed, I’m a mom!'
Wendy
was attempting to recap last week's controversy on her Fox show when
Madonna posted a photo of Rocco boxing with the caption 'Mama said knock
you out! #disn*gga.'
'Rocco’s
13-years-old and Rocco is a real fan of his mother,' Wendy sniffed,
then addressed her own son, saying, 'You know how it is, I know what it
is… Kevin, I discovered this a while ago, but the ball just got smacked home this weekend.
'He’s the one who’s 13 and I get it… But
it is breaking my heart. And he doesn’t care about Wendy On TV, he
doesn’t care about any of that.'
But the TV host obviously feels her husband and son are excluding her, adding: 'He’s a father, he’s a buddy, they talk
sneakers, they go for hair cuts, they speed off in the cars and I’m just
left there feeling like, "Why you so pissed?" I’m not pissed, I’m a mom!'
However, Wendy could see the good in the growing father-son relationship
'At this time, I can’t understand men who disappear from their kids' lives. Thank God he has his buddy, and father.
'Anyways, she’s lucky that he likes her,' Wendy said of Rocco and Madonna.
Wendy and Kevin - who is also her manager - have been married for 15 years
